Very few engineers get to work on infrastructure this real
A submarine cable landing station, a satellite teleport, a two-megawatt data centre and a national backbone — on one compound, run by one team. Most network engineers spend a career configuring equipment somebody else owns. Here you can put your hand on the thing.
Four teams, and what each one actually does
We are not always recruiting into all of them. We are always willing to read a good application.
Transmission & IP
Backbone, metro rings, the autonomous system and peering. Designing paths, running capacity, and being the person who decides what happens when a fibre is cut.
- Backgrounds that fit
- Carrier networking, transmission, routing, NOC experience
Teleport & ground segment
Antennas, hub platform, link budgets and the commissioning work behind new services. Genuinely specialist, and there are very few places in the region to learn it.
- Backgrounds that fit
- RF, VSAT, satellite operations, or strong fundamentals and real interest
Facility & hosting
Power, cooling, access, capacity planning and the remote-hands work that customers judge a facility on. Discipline matters here more than novelty.
- Backgrounds that fit
- Electrical, mechanical, data centre operations, systems administration
Earth observation & analysis
Turning imagery into answers a ministry or an insurer can act on. A newer part of the business, and the one where an individual can shape the work most.
- Backgrounds that fit
- GIS, remote sensing, data analysis, geography, environmental science
We would rather be honest about this too
This is demanding work in a demanding place. Shifts are real shifts, faults happen at inconvenient hours, and some of the equipment is the only one of its kind in the country — which is exciting until it is three in the morning.
What we offer in return is responsibility that would take a decade to reach elsewhere, and the chance to build capability that stays in Somalia rather than being flown in and flown out.
No advertised role is not the same as no opening
Tell us which of the four areas interests you and what you have actually built or operated. Speculative applications from strong engineers are read properly — this is not a market where we can afford to wait for the perfect vacancy.
