The last mile is where most Somali networks stop
International capacity is not the constraint any more. Getting it the final few kilometres — into a neighbourhood, a campus, an estate, a town — is. That is civil works, permits, plant and maintenance, and it is the part nobody wants to own.
Three stages, and the one everybody underestimates
Design
Survey, route selection, permits and a design that accounts for how the area will actually grow — rather than the cheapest line between two points, which is what gets dug up first.
Build
Civil works, ducting, cable, splicing and termination. The visible part, the expensive part, and the part where an experienced crew is worth what it costs.
Operate
The one people forget when they cost a build. Fibre gets cut, equipment ages, estates expand. A network without a maintenance answer is a capital expense with an expiry date.
You do not have to own it to use it
Which of these makes sense depends almost entirely on whether operating a network is something you want to be doing in five years.
We build it, you own it
A turnkey build handed over to you: design, civil works, plant and commissioning, with the documentation an operator actually needs afterwards.
- Fits when
- You intend to run your own network and want the asset on your books
- You then need
- A maintenance capability, which we can also provide
We build it and run it
The same build, but we keep the maintenance, the monitoring and the fault response — and you buy the service rather than the plant.
- Fits when
- You need the coverage but not the operations department
- You then need
- Nothing else; the upstream is already behind it
You use ours
Where our metro rings already reach, there is nothing to build. You take capacity on existing plant and start selling this quarter rather than next year.
- Fits when
- The addresses are already inside our footprint
- You then need
- Backhaul and transit, which is the same conversation
Send us the area you want covered
Give us the footprint and the premises you expect to serve. We will tell you what our rings already reach, what would have to be built, roughly what that takes, and which of the three models actually suits you.
