Coverage where fibre has not been built
C- and Ku-band service operated from our own teleport in Mogadishu. Almost everything else sold into this market is resold from a hub in another country, which means your traffic leaves the region before it reaches the internet and your fault ticket leaves with it.
The hub is in the same country as you
Satellite traffic lands on our antennas in Mogadishu and hands onto subsea capacity inside the same compound. No intercontinental detour, no partner hub, and no second company to call when something stops working.
Four situations where satellite is the right answer
And, equally, four where it is not: if a site is already on our metro rings, we will tell you to take fibre and spend the difference elsewhere.
There is no ground network
Most of Somalia’s inhabited area is not within reach of fibre and will not be for years. A VSAT terminal is the difference between a location that can operate and one that cannot.
Field operations →- Field offices, camps and remote compounds
- Mining, energy and construction sites
- Rural health and education facilities
The site cannot lose service
A second fibre in the same trench is not redundancy. Satellite is genuinely independent of the terrestrial path, which makes it the only honest backup for a site where an outage is an incident.
Enterprise connectivity →- Automatic failover from fibre primary
- No shared duct, station or backhaul leg
- One supplier for both paths
It has to work at sea
Fishing fleets, patrol craft and commercial vessels need a link well beyond the last terrestrial cell — for operations, for reporting, and increasingly because a licence condition says so.
Maritime & fisheries →- Maritime VSAT sized to the vessel
- Voice, data and position reporting
- Coverage across Somali waters and beyond
It has to be live
Contribution feeds from locations with no terrestrial path, sized for sustained upstream rather than headline download, with capacity committed for the duration rather than contended.
Broadcast & media →- Occasional-use and committed capacity
- Uplink from field locations
- Distribution beyond the fibre footprint
Tell us where the site is. We will tell you what reaches it.
Give us the coordinates, the application and the uptime you need. We will come back with the band, the terminal and an honest answer about whether satellite or fibre is the right call for that location.
